tetraplegia - upper limb function

File size: 2Mb

This video is a good example of the technique used by a person with C5-6 tetraplegia to handle a spoon. The tendonesis grip is being used. Note, in the case of C5 tetraplegia, a crude tenodesis grip is created by supination of the forearm, in order for the wrist to be pulled into extension by gravity and thereby create closing of the hand around object. In C6 tetraplegia active wrist extension creates the closure of the hand.
